Start planning your party in advance letting us know what your kids love the most!.
Decide on the party date, time and duration
Choose the theme for the party
Two weeks in advance send or give invitations. You can make them yourself.
The easiest invitation is by phone
There should be a duration mentioned in the invitation, because the party might extend longer than you expect
Before the guests come, arrange with the "birthday boy/girl" to open the presents at the end of the party.
If the birthday party is at home, move the toys somewhere where little guests would not be able to see them, otherwise it would be necessity to try all of them and it could distract their attention and it would be harder to concentrate on the games.
Don’t worry too much about the food: usually kids eat much less than is offered. The most important is that there is a cake on the table!
If you want to offer something healthier than just sweets, you would need to work a little harder. Get various shaped cutters and carving knifes for vegetables and start working. A simple carrot can become a cute orange mouse.
And more...
Every year on the birthday day take a picture of your little one with their favorite toy (e.g. First teddy bear). This could be done right after waking up –a nice introduction to create a birthday mood.
Birthdays are a very good opportunity to start a nice family tradition: start making a family scrapbook. Make a list of interesting questions such as, ask your grandmother how old she was when she met a granddad, what impression he made on him, what is her favorite flower or most romantic adventure. Granddad could answer when he shaved his beard the very first time, where was his first date... when the little one will grow up, he will be very happy to have very interesting documentation collection.
If the birthday is in the spring, encourage a dad to make a nesting box. Let the kid to color it. The culmination of the party could be the hanging of it on the tree. It is symbolic, useful and will be remembered. |
